The hotel has, I'm afraid, gone downhill since Les Etincelles took it over, although it is still good in many ways. It now has the feel of an establishment which is being run to maximise profit.

Staff were generally excellent - really helpful and friendly. The lounge and dining room were good - relaxing, comfortable and well laid out and decorated and the swimming pool is a real bonus.

The prices of drinks, tea/coffee etc were outrageous and I could not believe that I was expected to pay extra for a very small amount of milk to put in my tea.

My bedroom had a pile of spilled instant coffee by a wall which stayed there for two days until I pointed it out. My bottled water was never re-filled and the water glasses were never washed/changed. One of the lights in my bedroom did not work and there was an electric socket hanging loose out of the skirting board. I should add that when I reported the spilled coffee and the electrical issues, they were dealt with very promptly.

A real mixture of too many faults but great staff who tried their best and generally succeeded.
